25'-26' UMBRA Project Managers

Project Lazarus
Noah Bender
Hey y'all! My name is Noah, I'm a third year Aerospace Engineering major here at Cal Poly. I am the Project Manager of Project Lazarus this year, and am hoping to lead my team to compete in the FAR-Unlimited Rocketry Competition in June, and restart UMBRA's intercollegiate rocketry team to keep competing in future years. My journey in UMBRA started my freshman year in SRC, after which I went to do some work for Propulsion, Exo Bronco, and mentoring for the SRC Program. I've had a lot of fun being involved with UMBRA antics, and am looking forward to continuing that trend this year. Outside of school and rocketry I am still a huge nerd, and enjoy reading, playing tabletop games, and hanging out with my friends. If you see me around on campus, feel free to ask me any questions or just chat, I'm usually pretty bored with whatever I'm doing, and always down to talk.

ExoBronco
Nathan Faraj
Hey everyone! My name is Nathan! I'm an incoming senior majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in computer science, and I'm this year's Exo Bronco project manager. This year, I'm hoping to have Exo Bronco successfully launch a 2-stage proof-of-concept rocket and then move us on to a high-altitude 50,000 ft 2-stage rocket! I have a lot of project experience both in and out of UMBRA. I have been in Exo Bronco for 2 years working on the stage separation mechanism. I also have been in Liquid Rocket Lab for 6 months where I got to work on developing the launch vehicle. I also have done research on autonomous drones and AI! UMBRA has been a great experience for me and has helped me develop a lot of critical thinking and design skills that translate directly to industry. My favorite memory is all the pop tests I've had to conduct for the stage separation mechanism (it was a LOT of pop tests). As for hobbies - well, engineering is my hobby, so I build things on the side! But, I also enjoy playing the piano. Please feel free to ask me any questions - either about Exo Bronco or something else!

Project Inferno
Simon Uttam
Hi! My name is Simon and I'm a senior in aerospace, but Ill be around for another year to finish a botany minor. This year I'll be the PM of Inferno after being a lead on the manufacturing team last year, which I'm happy about because its a great project and I get to take up the legacy of the past two PM's Zack and Reyes. These two, along with Tori and Enzo are the people who made UMBRA special to me, and taught me most of what I know today. In my time in UMBRA I've been on Inferno for 2 years, done payload integration on USL, systems for CE-MARC, been the secretary and then treasurer and helped out with UP mixes. I look forward to hot firing the freedom engine and getting the vernier thruster ready so that we can put cool new pictures on the website >:)

UMBRA Electronics
Aivie Quinto
Hello everyone! I'm Aivie Quinto, a 4th year Electrical Engineering major. My goal this year as Project Manager of UMBRA Electronics is to further refine our custom electronics systems and help members improve their electronics knowledge and skills. This is my 3rd year in UMBRA where I've worked on Exo Bronco and Inferno, and I also did BLADE on Bronco Space my freshman year. Some of my favorite experiences on UMBRA include team bonding after launches and going on the SRC camping trip. Outside of school, I enjoy playing tennis and cooking.

Small Rocket Competition
Jessica Dhillon
Hello! My name is Jessica Dhillon and it is my pleasure to be your Workshop Manager and SRC Project Manager this year. I am a third year ARO major and I am pursuing minors in both International Business as well as Operations Management. My involvement in UMBRA started in SRC and then I had the opportunity to help out a bit in both Exo Bronco and UMBRA Prop. This year, I'll be managing UMBRA's workshop events and SRC :) Aside from UMBRA, I really enjoy crocheting, cooking/baking, and camping. I am really excited to see what this year has in store. Definitely feel free to ask me any questions if you see me around!
